Intro to Cold Water Swimming

What to Expect:

  • Warm Welcome & Introduction: Meet your host, FAY TENNET, Swimming Teacher and Open Water Swim Coach, in our on-site studio. Enjoy a warming drink while learning about the joys and benefits of cold water swimming, along with tips to make your experience enjoyable and safe.

  • Guided Swim Session: After the introduction, change into your swimwear and join us for a guided dip in our stunning natural clay-bottomed lake.

  • Post-Swim Warm-Up: After your swim, warm up and get cosy with a fresh hot drink and a delicious slice of cake to round off your invigorating experience.

This event is tailored for beginners and those new to open water swimming, offering a safe and friendly atmosphere to embrace this transformative practice. The class will last an hour and a half, ensuring a relaxed and supportive experience. Spaces are limited to keep the session personal.

  • For a comfortable and enjoyable experience, we recommend bringing:

    • Swimsuit.

    • Flip-flops and robe for walking around the site.

    • A tow float for safety (mandatory for all swimmers; bring your own or use one of ours).

    • Easy to put on clothes – loose and lots of layers.

    • Gloves and socks.

    • Wooly hat x 2 (you might want to wear one whilst swimming and then have a dry one for afterwards).

    • Wetsuit (optional).

    • Water shoes are recommended for added warmth and grip.

    • Hot water bottle – ready filled.

    • A spacious car park, just a short walk from the studio and lake.

    • Two sets of steps for easy access to the lake.

    • A 100m marked swimming loop for safe and guided wild swimming.

    • On-site café serving delicious food and drinks from 9 AM to 2 PM.
